Camp Asbury announces the start of an exciting new project! The camp is repurposing and preserving an original shower-house, aka “the Equipment Shed.” For many years Camp Asbury has needed dedicated space for visual, ceramic, and tactile art. Dedicated physical space will invite campers and retreat guests to explore personal interior space and find inspiration in the beauty of creation.

Creativity is a foundational part of the camp experience. Art has a way of evoking, celebrating, and sharing each person’s unique identity. Hands-on art often both surprises and reveals the artist in us. When we make art, the discoveries are both personal and communal.

Generous gifts received during the year of COVID enable Camp Asbury to launch an Art Center this spring. Volunteers will help with some of the work. Our goal is to complete Asbury’s Art Center by the end of 2021. Along the way we will need the support of many. We anticipate the final cost of the project at around $50,000.
